Belleville Althoff standout Tarkus Ferguson has given a verbal commitment to the University of Illinois-Chicago.
The 6’3″ senior guard averaged 14.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.4 steals as a junior in helping the Crusaders to a 29-4 record and a berth in the Illinois Class 3A state championship game. Ferguson also shot 44 percent from 3-point range and 78 percent from the free throw line. He is a versatile point guard with excellent size and athletic ability.
Ferguson played during the summer for the Southwest Illinois Jets 17U team. He enjoyed a stellar month of July during the evaluation period, after which he received many Division I offers. Ferguson also received offers from schools such as Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, Bradley, Evansville, UMKC, Indiana State among several others.
