McKendree opens play in NAIA national tournament on Wednesday

McKendree University will be making its 14th appearance in the Buffalo Funds National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Division I national tournament this week.

The Bearcats (27-6) will face John Brown University on Wednesday afternoon at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. Tip-off is at 2:15 p.m.

  McKendree enters the NAIA Tournament as the No. 8 seed in the 32-team field. The Bearcats were the American Midwest Conference regular season and postseason championships en route to the national tournament.

McKendree dropped a 73-70 overtime decision to John Brown in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City. The Bearcats finished a fine season with a 27-7 record. Congratulations to coach Harry Statham and the Bearcats on a great season.
