Kevin Carroll named the new head coach at Maryville University

Maryville University has tabbed Kevin Carroll as its new men's basketball coach. Carroll was officially introduced to his new position at a press conference on April 15.

  Carroll, 32, comes to Maryville from the United States Air Force Academy, where he was an assistant coach for the past three seasons.

  Prior to his three seasons at Division I Air Force, Carroll was an assistant coach at the University of Alabama-Huntsville for one season. UAH is a NCAA Division II school. A native of Chattonooga, Tenn., Carroll began his coaching career as a successful high school coach at St. Pius X High in Atlanta. Carroll played collegiate basketball at Berry College in Rome, Ga.

  Maryville University is beginning its second year of competition at the NCAA Division II level as a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
