Lindenwood U. lands former metro east standout Eric McCrary
Lindenwood University coach Brad Soderberg added to an already stellar recruiting class when he received a commitment from Division I transfer Eric McCrary from Southeast Missouri State. McCrary was a former standout forward at Belleville East.
McCrary, a 6'7" 230-pound power forward with excellent shooting skills, played in 23 games as a junior at SEMO. He averaged 2.7 points in 10 minutes of action. McCrary shot 48 percent from the field, 39 percent from 3-point territory and 76 percent from the free throw line. He has the ability to stretch defenses with his 3-point shooting range. The son of former Belleville East coach Doug McCrary, young Eric will have one more year of eligibility remaining.
McCrary is the third Division I transfer to join Lindenwood's program this spring. He joins former St. Charles West standout guards Kramer Soderberg (Miami of Ohio) and Alex Bazzell (UMKC) at LU. Also in the fold for the Lions is 6'6" power forward Garrett Reeg of Oakville, giving the Lions a nice group of local athletes. A fifth player headed to LU is guard Michael Boos from Madision, Wisc.
