Elite Basketball Academy & AthleteLookup.com Spring Tournament Set for May 21-23
The Elite Basketball Academy & AthleteLookup.com is presenting its Spring Shootout from May 21-23. The games will be played at various locations in St. Charles County. The tournament is for boys and girls teams from fourth to eighth grade and for high school teams in the 15, 16 and 17-and-under divisions.
Anthony Smith Memorial 3-on-3 Tournament to be held on May 22-23 in Kirkwood
The Second Annual Hope Unlimited Anthony Smith Memorial 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held on May 22-23 at Concordia Lutheran Church (505 S. Kirkwood Road) in Kirkwood. The tournament is named in honor of Anthony Smith, a former Kirkwood High standuot (1999-2001), who died of leukemia on January 28, 2008, one day before his 25th birthday. The Greater Midwest Classic-Spring Fling Basketball Tournament will be held in North County from April 30-May 2. The tournament will feature boys and girls youth teams from fourth to eighth grade and high school teams in the 15, 16 and 17-and-under age divisions. The event will be held at McCluer North High School and St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley. The fee for the tournament is $200 (three game guarantee). The Gerry Pollard Officiating Camp will be held in Fort Wayne, Ind. from May 28-30 in conjunction with the Spiece Memorial Day Run-n-Slam Tournament. The camp fee is $285. (February 20 event to benefit people of Haiti) Former Wellston High girls basketball coach Carl Davis has put together a nice basketball event to help the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti and celebrate the legacy of Wellston basketball in the process. The Hoops 4 Haiti event will be held on Saturday, February 20 at Eskridge High in Wellston (1200 Sutter).
