Earl's Big Game of the Night (Boys)
Tournament Final, Metro East Showdown, Big vs Small Battle, Highlights Friday Night Action
Hazelwood Central vs. DeSmet
These two teams will meet in the championship game of the Ameritime Classic tonight at Parkway West. Hazelwood Central has been one of the area's top teams from the beginning of the season while DeSmet has been steadily improving.
The talented Hawks are led by 6'3" senior forward Chris Babbitt and 6'2"
junior shooting guard Jordan Wilson. They are in their third tournament final of the season. They won the Vianney Tournament and finished second in the Meramec Holiday Tournament.

DeSmet is a team on the rise. They are led by 6'6" junior Ted Corwin, who is an excellent inside player. They are also getting some good play from freshman Jim Barton and 6'6" freshman Nolan Berry. DeSmet is probably a year away from being really good, but they wouldn't mind making a little noise before this year is over.
Tip off is at 8:30 p.m.
Chaminade at MICDS
This will be an interesting matchup of a top large school against an excellent small school. Chaminade's All-American junior guard Bradley Beal is averaging more than 30 points a game. He is coming off a 44-point masterpiece at Vianney last week.
MICDS has been going strong since the beginning of the Christmas holidays, winning 11 of their last 12 games. They had their 11-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night in a 60-58 loss at Lafayette.
The Rams have one of the area's top backcourts in 6'3" senior McPherson Moore and 6'2" senior Michael Scott. They combine to average about 35 points a game.
Tip off is at 7 p.m.
Cahokia at Belleville Althoff
This metro-east showdown features two of the top teams in the South Seven Conference. The Cahokia Comanches have quietly put together an excellent season. The Comanches earned their bonafides in December when the won the Centralia Holiday Tournament and knocking off O'Fallon in the championship. It is still O'Fallon's only loss of the season. They are led by 6'5" senior Jarrion Norris and a host of athletic kids who play hard.
Althoff is one of the most balanced teams in the area. They have good size on the interior in 6'9" Dan Harms and 6'5" Carson Sonneberg, plus a nice pair of guards in 5'5" mighty mite Alvin Mumphard and smooth 6'0"
Devin Griffin.
Tip off is at 8 p.m. Should be a good one.
