International basketball standout Rob Loe of New Zealand has been selected to play in the 2010 Nike Hoop Summit. Loe, a 6’11” center, who has Saint Louis University among his final list of schools, will play for the World Team against a group of top players from the United States. The Hoop Summit will be played Saturday, April 10 at the Rose Garden in Portland.

The Nike Hoop Summit annually pits a World Select team of international players 19-years old and younger against a group of top American players in the same age group. Loe is one of the top players in New Zealand and a member of its 19-and-under team that played in the 2009 World 19-and-under championships last summer.

Current SLU freshmen Cody Ellis and Christian Salecich played in the same tournament for the Australian team.

Loe will reportedly choose between SLU, Colorado and possibly Georgia Tech.

Last year’s Hoop Summit was televised on Fox Sports. Hopefully, it will be televised once again so Billiken fans will get a chance to see a possible recruit in action for the first time.
