Billiken guard Justin Jordan to transfer

My friend and colleague Nate Latsch of Billikenreport.com is reporting that freshman guard Justin Jordan will be transferring from Saint Louis University in hopes of finding more playing time.

The 5'10" Jordan was a valuable guard off the bench during his freshman season with the Billikens. He averaged 4.9 points and shot a team-leading 38 percent from beyond the 3-point line in 18 minutes of action during the 2009-10 season. J.J. also handed out 58 assists, which was fourth on the team.

J.J. provided the Billikens with instant offense off the bench on many nights, much like former SLU standout Carl Turner in the mid-1990s. He played both guard positions and shot the 3-pointer well. He had 15 points against Missouri State on Dec. 19 in the absence of leading scorer Kwamain Mitchell. J.J. also had a big game with 11 points in SLU's big road victory at Dayton to close the regular season on March 6.

The program that gains J.J.'s services will be getting a young man who can really score. He averaged nearly 28 points a game as a senior in Fort Wayne, Ind. Not only did he shoot the 3-pointer well last year, but he showed the ability to get to the basket and find a shot in traffic in the land of the giants. I'm going to miss J.J. Best of luck to him in his future basketball pursuits. I will be following him wherever he goes.
