SLU women land DePaul transfer Courtney Webb
SLU women's coach Shimmy Gray-Miller announced the signing of 5'8" guard Courtney Webb, who played the past two seasons at DePaul University.
A native of Benton Harbor, Mich., Webb is a former All-State performer as a senior in 2008 after averaging nearly 19 points, 10 rebounds and five assists per game. Webb finished her career with more than 1,300 points.
As a sophomore at DePaul, Webb saw action in 29 games, scoring 69 points and grabbing 33 rebounds. She was named an Big East Conference All-Academic selection as a freshman in 2009.
Webb will sit out the 2010-11 season via NCAA transfer rules, then she will have two years of eligibility remaining at SLU. When she becomes eligible in the fall of 2011, Webb is expected to have an immediate impact with her ability to score.
"Courtney will have an immediate impact on the offensive end," Gray-Miller said. "She is explosive, quick and a potent scorer. Nobody on our roster can do what Courtney can do with the ball."
